The Creatrix
Karen Robinovitz got her start at Women’s Wear Daily, where she covered haute happenings and openings in New York for over three years. A seasoned journalist, covering fashion, trends, beauty, celebrities, entertaining, art, home design, dating / relationships / sex, fitness, travel, pop culture, and lifestyles of the rich and fabulous, she has been a Contributing Editor at both Marie Claire Magazine and Elle Magazine. Her work has also been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, The New York Times, The New York Post, Glamour, In Style, Details, New York Magazine, TimeOut New York, Gotham, and Hamptons, amongst others.
She co-authored three saucy books: "How to Become Famous in Two Weeks or Less,"a sassy hybrid of nonfiction personal essays and tongue-in-cheek self-help tips; "The Fashionista Files: Adventures in Four-Inch Heels and Faux Pas,” which designers Michael Kors and Diane von Furstenberg raved about, and "Fete Accompli! The Ultimate Guide to Creative Entertaining."
Karen is a regular on VH-1’s cult-hit, “The Fabulous Life,” and she’s been a fixture on MTV’s Made, E!, Style, The Tyra Banks Show, CNN, Entertainment Tonight, and morning shows across the country. Two years ago, she filmed a pilot for BRAVO - a docu-ality show about her life (the show didn’t air but Karen has a great DVD for her future grandchildren!).
Over the years, Karen has consulted for mega-brands on marketing and branding, doing everything from trend forecasting, influencer events, strategic partnerships to social media programs, offering “out of the box” solutions and tactics (ask her about the fleet of branded BMWs with hot drivers, handing out logo-gumballs that she produced for Glam.com’s Fashion Week launch!).
She has brought her obsession with beauty, design, fashion, all things glamorous and chic, to her life’s work – and it is now an integral part of her new “baby,” Purple Lab.
Karen Robinovitz lives in New York City with her husband, Todd, who is also the CEO! No kids yet – but their mothers are really pressuring! You can also check out Karen's personal website at karenrobinovitz.com.
