Pucker Up Playlist!
September 16, 09
I’m going to post a video on Fashion’s Night Out later this week. But because I’m still on the high from the party, replaying every minute over and over in my head, I thought I’d share the Purple Lab Pucker Up playlist, curated by the groovy DJ Lips (who donned a chic purple Phillip Lim for the occasion)!
Check it out!
1. Baditude by Spoon, Harris, and Obernik: Fun, very dance-able, a total girl power track!
2. Out of My Head by the Black Eyed Peas: Great bassline and vocals from Fergie, as always. That girl can sing!
3. Love by Simian Mobile Disco: The kind of song I love to dance around my room to. Catchy and quirky.
4. He Ain’t With Me Now: A fab pump-up song with an equally fab message… trés Purple Lab!
5. Make It Take It by Amanda Blank: Amanda Blank kicks ass; there’s no way around it. This track is a new favorite and total must-have.
6. Bulletproof (Zinc Remix) by La Roux: Another dose of girl power in this edgy dance remix. One of DJ Lips’s all-time faves.
7. We Off That by Jay-Z, Drake and Timbaland: Three members of hip-hop royalty coming together on one track? Unbeatable.
8. Heard ‘Em All by Amerie and Lil Wayne: Amerie is channeling Sasha Fierce in this hip-pop jam… and it works!
9. Love Game (Party Rock Remix) by Lady Gaga: An already-great Gaga track gets kicked up a few notches by the boys of LMFAO.
10. Raindrops (Louis La Roche Remix) by Basement Jaxx: Just a really pretty dance song… perfect for, say, driving around the city in a Ford Fiesta.
11. Let the Sun Shine by Milk & Sugar: A modern interpretation of the Hair classic. It can’t NOT make you instantly happy.
12. Memories: David Guetta’s house expertise and Kid Cudi’s sick rhymes combine beautifully on this new genre-bending track.
13. Runnin by Doman & Gooding: Poppy, dance-friendly lyrics over a classic house/disco beat. I dare you not to dance to this one!
14. Good Times by Mark Knight: Another remix of an old-school favorite. Le Chic gets a clubby update with Mark Knight’s sleek beats.
15. Daft Punk is Playing at My House by LCD Soundsystem: This hipster classic is universally appealing; gotta love a cowbell solo!
16. The Jimmy Choos by Chester French: As if Purple Lab could hate any song with a shoe-inspired title!
17. Nothing to Worry About by Peter, Bjorn & John: This funky anthem packs a surprising punch with fabulously heavy bass that you can’t ignore.
18. Something of Nothing by DNA: The Purple Lab theme song and a perfect end to a Fashion’s Night Out Ride!
Thank you Ms. Lips. We heart you!
