What is a social media chanteuse? It is Dee! That is literally her title on her Purple Lab business card. I met her on Twitter – she tweeted me that she was a “Glambassador” and linked me to her blog, The Candid Commentary. She wanted to cover Purple Lab. We met for mani pedi and it was love! She started working with me the following week and she oversees all things social media.

True story: I spend about 70% of my time online.

It’s a little hard to believe and might even be a little sickening to some but it’s 100% true. Don’t worry, I’m not locked in my apartment 24/7, hiding from natural light. If I’m not at Purple Lab HQ, I’m out and about with my friends or boyfriend having a great time.
So how do I spend that much time online? My Blackberry, of course. I never ever leave the house without it and if I do by accident, I’m similar to a child who’s been torn away from their security blanket.
Now that you know I’m online all the time, you should know that 65% of that time is spent immersed in social media. So yes, I’m that girl standing behind you in Bloomie’s tweeting about what I’m about to purchase or that chick who’s Facebook status changes like the time!
I am completely, utterly, without a doubt in love with everything that is social media and Web 2.0.
This addiction started a long, long time ago – right around when AOL dropped into my life. From then on, I wanted to know everything and anything about the internet. I was fascinated at how immediate the communication was!
Being able to catch up with friends who I hadn’t spoken to in forever or the ability to see a picture of my baby cousin in Italy was amazing to me. Of course, I graduated from AOL and began schooling myself on the ways and wonders of the internet. Photoshop tutorials to makeup lessons to blogging – I wanted to learn and eventually do it all!
Fast-forward to today and I’m a quick-typing, Twitter-addict that reads Mashable like it’s my Bible and (at times – God bless it!) spends more time with my friends on Facebook than I do in real life! Thankfully, I’m fortunate enough to work with two of the biggest passions in my life – makeup and the Web!
Anyone who knows me, knows how social I can be… and how crazy I am about anything beauty-related – so what better than to be Purple Lab’s Social Media Chanteuse? (Credit goes to Karen for thinking up my fabulous title! Luvs it!)
