Ommmmmm
November 11, 09
Some of our friends have been asking us about our new colors – we do have them coming but to be honest, we’re having delays.
We have new components coming (we’re still reeling from the broken batch that was sent to us a while ago – please see my disaster series of blogs!). And it’s so frustrating because while we’re waiting, we’re literally sitting on batches (in large ginormous drums) of gloss!
The new shades are called Limo to Lobby, inspired by the clothes you sit in, the shoes you can’t walk in, and the fashion pieces made for nothing but stepping out of the limo and into the lobby.
It’s a beautiful sheer pink. Like floating Valento chiffon. Dying over it! How chic is it?

The other shade?
Goji Berry Smoothie, inspired by the color of the smoothie I sip every morning with Todd.
It’s a healthy mix of goji berries (a super fruit rich in antioxidants), blueberries, coconut milk, and banana.
On, it’s a berry shade with subtle hints of brown and oh so fab. See below.

Because I was getting antsy to show people these shades, I decided to give some F.O.P.L. (Friends of Purple Lab) a hint.
So I invited them to a Goji Berry Smoothie experience – an evening of yoga with my friend and teacher Libby McGinley, whose energy is beautiful, mellow, so soothing, it makes you wanna go “Om.”
She has such an open, airy loft in Tribeca and agreed to host the night. We gave all of the guests purple Hardtail yoga pants (they RSVP’d wtih their size – the better to downward dog in, my dear). And my freind Rebecca Sharzer, who has a raw chocolate making business called Home Grown Love, whipped up some raw goji berry cacao truffles. (No sugar!)
Libby’s apartment is one of those places that feels like isntant vacation – totally serene, the scent of sage permeating the air, oatmeal colored shag rug that feels like heaven under your feet. And three cute Thai fisherman pants-wearing, shaggy haired musician boys from the Didge Project, a trio that busts out healing sounds from the wind instrument used for 40,000 years on Aborigonee cultures, provided the most amazing back drop (often with djimbe drum).
As we were in poses, the didge players actually came up close to engulf us with their sounds. No words for how incredible the energy was!
At the end of the session, we served Goji Berry Smoothies from Organic Avenue, my favorite pit stop for green juice, raw desserts, and all things healthy. (Mary Kate Olsen is a fan – I know this because I came in once to pick up a delivery and next to my bag was hers – and it had her cell phone on it, which I wrote down but obviously could never use or broadcast… but man, I want to!)
Kimmie from Kittenlounge - love her and her site!

The piece de resistance?
Linda Lauren, an old friend and celebrity psychic, did mini readings for all. She said that I would be shooting a pilot some time soon (from her mouth…) and without knowing it, she told Sharon (our Communications Queen) that she would be doing a TV show too!
Om to that… and hopefully getting these new shades out SOON!

G’day. I’m having trouble with your website. I can’t see the pictures. Is everyone having this problem? I have been having trouble with my notebook lately, so I’m not sure if its my equipment or if its your blog. Thanks!

I sent you an email, Joetta. Did you receive it? I’m not sure why you’re why you’re having trouble – I never heard this before and you don’t need anything special. Yikes! Did you try to refresh or restart your computer? I wish I had an answer!
